Today was a little hectic, but I feel calmed by the fact that my embroidery thread is well organized. Michael’s sells a 56-pack of DMC brand cardboard bobbins for $2, but my 50%-off coupon made it a perfect fit for my dollar limit.
My thread collection has been growing ever since Tim’s grandma gave me needlepoint lessons over Christmas break. She has bobbins galore, full of any color you might desire. So while I should spend more time honing my skills before I go overboard buying the materials, what I really want to do is work on getting my thread collection to match hers. Maybe in a few months (or years, depending on my progress) I’ll show you the finished product of my first real project. I bought the goldfinches crewel kit at Purl last Thanksgiving and I’m pretty excited at the thought of hanging it on my wall someday.
