Almond bark is a rather puzzling substance. At first glance, you might think it’s chocolate. It’s used like chocolate, but it’s not real chocolate (check the label). But that doesn’t mean it can’t be a useful ingredient on occasion. And when it’s on clearance for $1 at Target, who cares what it’s made of. I do like to keep almond bark on hand to use in combination with chocolate for coating pretzels or cookie truffles. And sometimes it’s just fun to drizzle on top of anything.
I want someone to make these Oreo cheesecake cookies and tell me what you think. The dough is amazing. But I wasn’t incredibly impressed with the baked cookies. They flattened out like crazy, and they got pretty crispy — the batch on my dark cookie sheet was borderline burned. But I feel there is potential. So give it a try and let me know.
