One day, while sitting at a stoplight that faced a Dunkin’ Donuts (which is basically any stoplight in Boston), I noticed a sign advertising their $0.99 breakfast wrap. I started thinking about all the things you can buy in this world for just $1. My mental list didn’t go too far beyond Target’s $1 section and the $0.99 menu at Wendy’s. So I decided to see how many things I could find for about $1. And why not blog my finds while I’m at it?
The goal for this blog is to have fun with $1 a day (give or take a few cents) and document it here. My overall life budget is a little tight (thanks to my grad school plus the PhD debt I married recently), but I’m thinking this will be a fun way to prevent unnecessary splurges. It’ll also force me to get out of the house during this never-ending winter and visit some of the great local shops in my Boston neighborhood.
If you know of any great ways to spend $1, send your tips my way! Leave a comment or send me a message at ashleydickson at gmail dot com.
