Is this emu a little scary-looking or what? How about when it sticks its head in your car? We saw — and fed — lots of exotic animals today at the Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, NC. If you’re ever in this neck of the woods, I recommend you visit the ranch. It’s home to 750 animals from six different continents! The kids loved it, and it was quite enjoyable from an adult perspective as well.
Here are the crazy kiddies. I’ve established myself as the favorite auntie, but for some reason Everett (far left) called me Tim multiple times today. The twins were wild as ever, but also cute as ever.
But on to the dollar deal of the day. We dined on a picnic of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grapes, bananas, etc. for lunch, so it seemed necessary to top it off with ice cream. The snack shack at the ranch had a variety of flavors from a local ice cream company, but the least expensive option was $2. So I got smart — Page was already purchasing two scoops ($3) for herself and her boys, so I decided to pay her a dollar to have her upgrade to the three-scoop for $4 option. Good idea, right? Our three flavors were cake batter, chocolate, and cookies and cream. Delicious.
